FAQ

What is the difference of Temp Staffing vs Staff Augmentation?

Temporary Staffing refers to a situation where the employee is expected to leave the employer within a certain period of time. Temporary employees are sometimes called “contractual”, “seasonal”, “interim”, “casual staff”, “outsourcing”, “freelance”; or the word may be shortened to “temps”. A temporary staffing firm will recruit and hire the workers. Other companies, in need of short-term staff, will contract with the temporary staffing agency to send temporary workers, or temps, on assignments to work at the other companies.

Staff Augmentation is an outsourcing strategy which is used to staff a project and respond to business objectives. The technique consists of evaluating the existing staff and then determining which additional skills are required. The goal of the exercise is to handle staffing requirements with an existing set of talent. IT staff augmentation is typically for long term projects that consist of application and software developers. IT staff augmentation services provide a one-window solution to companies who might require application development across diverse technology verticals.

Does companies that provide staffing services offer employee benefits?

It typically depends on the length of the assignment. If hired and placed on a long term assignment then most employees choose to accept the standard benefit package. Although everyone is eligible as a W-2 employee, most or shorter assignments tend to decline.
